Slingshot Aerospace Welcomes New Leaders to Drive Growth and Innovation

Slingshot Aerospace is excited to welcome four accomplished industry leaders to our growing team: Rob Hathaway as Vice President of Sales; Chris Kinman as Senior Director of Business Development; John Young as Director of Sales, International Business; and Dana Brown as Senior Account Executive, Commercial & Channel (East). These strategic hires come at a pivotal time as we scale to meet increasing demand for intelligent space operations that enhance national security and global resilience. Their expertise will be instrumental in accelerating Slingshot’s growth and expanding our ability to support government and commercial customers with cutting-edge space domain awareness solutions.

Rob Hathaway, Vice President of Sales

Rob Hathaway has joined Slingshot Aerospace as Vice President of Sales. A seasoned global sales and capture executive, Rob brings over 20 years of experience in satellite, geospatial, and AI technologies. He has successfully launched and scaled five satellite and technology startups, four of which achieved successful exits. Rob has held leadership roles at Planet, Google, and Noosphere Ventures, where he developed and executed go-to-market strategies that drove significant revenue growth.  

Chris Kinman, Senior Director of Business Development

Chris Kinman has joined Slingshot Aerospace as Senior Director of Business Development. A U.S. Army veteran and accomplished aerospace and defense executive, Chris has extensive experience in business development, strategy, and program management across commercial and government space sectors. He has held key leadership positions at Hughes Network Systems, Momentus Space, Northrop Grumman, and SES Space and Defense, securing major partnerships and driving technology-driven solutions.  

John Young, Director of Sales, International Business

John Young has joined Slingshot Aerospace as Director of Sales, International Business. With two decades of experience in technology sales and business development within the defense and national security sectors, John has held senior roles at Thales UK, Honeywell, and BAE Systems. During his tenure at BAE Systems, he played a pivotal role in defining the company’s space growth strategy, leading acquisitions, and advancing investment initiatives. His contributions included spearheading the acquisition of In-Space Missions and developing the Azalea concept demonstrator, set to launch in 2026.

Dana Brown, Senior Account Executive, Commercial & Channel (East)

Dana Brown has joined Slingshot Aerospace as Senior Account Executive, leading commercial and channel sales efforts in the Eastern U.S. With over 20 years of experience in sales management within the space and federal sectors, Dana specializes in identifying strategic market opportunities and leveraging technology to drive customer success. Passionate about the intersection of data and technology, he is committed to enhancing the safety and sustainability of the space community.
