Read about recent key additions to the leadership team of Slingshot Aerospace from CEO and Co-Founder David Godwin.
As Co-Founder and CEO of Slingshot Aerospace, I’m excited to share some updates from the first half of 2020 while looking ahead to the rest of this year. Despite the challenges the world has faced during this unprecedented time, we are proud of the progress we’ve made as a team.
First, it’s my pleasure to share that we expanded our senior leadership team with four key hires that bring experience from Palantir, the U.S. Department of State, DroneBase, and Deloitte, as well as an executive promotion of a U.S. Air Force veteran. These new leaders of Slingshot are heading up product, solutions engineering, marketing, and business development for geospatial and space.
This signifies a maturing moment for our high-growth company as we work to further scale our business. We remain hyper-focused on delivering an easy-to-use situational intelligence platform so our government, emergency management, and commercial customers can gain valuable insights in complex environments. This core group of senior leaders brings a strong pedigree that enables us to supercharge our efforts. Here is a bit more about each of them:
As Vice President of Product, Adam Judelson will be responsible for setting product strategy for the Slingshot Aerospace suite of products. Most notably, he was previously Head of Product for Gotham during a seven year stint at Palantir Technologies. Most recently, Adam was Vice President of Product and General Manager of Deloitte where he was responsible for growing a big data and machine learning product startup. He has also served as Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University where he co-founded "Disruptive Analytics" to propel graduate students’ thinking about complex analytic challenges in a technology and big data-empowered world.
As VP of Solutions and Customer Success, Joshua Lederman will lead engineering programs and teams related to new innovation and the company’s efforts. Like Adam, Joshua spent time at Palantir Technologies, where he helped secure multi-million dollar contracts and increased customer retention as a forward facing engineer. Most recently, Joshua served as Vice President of Product and Blockchain Solutions for Xpansiv where he led the product and design teams responsible for developing the company’s SaaS platform.
Erik Till joins Slingshot Aerospace as Vice President of Marketing where he will set the strategy and lead all of the company’s marketing and communications efforts. Previously, Erik spent the last four years as the Head of Marketing at DroneBase where he developed and led strategic marketing campaigns and raised the profile of the company. Prior to leading marketing, he held a senior role in business development at the company. Before DroneBase, Erik has worked for other early-stage startups bringing complex solutions to the global market.
In his role as Vice President of Business Development, Government & Geospatial, Carter Christopher will grow the Slingshot Aerospace business for geospatial offerings. He previously served as Deputy Director for the Office of the Geographer and Global Issues at the U.S. Department of State where he established an enterprise GIS solution. Before that, he spent 10 years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency where he led a number of modernization efforts in regards to object detection and mapping, cloud modernization, data science and advanced geospatial analysis, and global GIS training. Carter holds a PhD in earth systems and geoinformation science, and a MS in geography and remote sensing.
Charlie McGillis, a U.S. Air Force and space industry veteran, joined Slingshot Aerospace in January 2019 as the Executive Director of Customer Engagement and Strategy where she was responsible for defense and commercial customer success. As a former U.S. Colonel, Charlie led intelligence support for the Air Force space operations. In her new role as Vice President of Business Development, Government & Space, she will oversee a team focused on space and government customers.
We’ve all been heads-down, focused on building the best possible solutions for our customers, empowering them to make better decisions to enhance their ability to save time, resources, and lives. A quick look at our Newsroom and the recent announcements we’ve made about some of our contracts and partnerships will demonstrate the fruits of our team’s hard work.
A customized version of Slingshot Earth is being used to help those in need find food resources through our FoodFinder online mapping tool, built for 211 Los Angeles County who needed support during this COVID era. Through a contract with the U.S. Air Force, we are also exploring how our technology can be leveraged to assist in the reconstruction of the Base of the Future after Tyndall Air Force base was devastated by Hurricane Michael.
Our values and vision remain resolute as we adapt and find new opportunities to make the world a better place, as illustrated by the above two examples. Slingshot Aerospace is just getting started and we’ll have more exciting news to share with you here very soon.
